This shirt was issued to defender, Kenny Cunningham, in the infamous match away to Macedonia on October 9th 1999. It is a green, long-sleeved, home shirt and has been fully signed by the Irish squad from that game. Cunningham wore a short-sleeved shirt in the game so there can be no question of this shirt being match worn. The match ended in a hugely disappointing 1-1 draw which meant Ireland finished a point behind group winners Yugoslavia. It meant that Ireland lost out on automatic qualification to Euro 2000, and had to enter a play-off instead (which they subsequently lost controversially against Turkey). This is one of my favourites, partly because of the history of the match itself, but also because it has been signed by the whole squad and it came with a two-page handwritten letter by Kenny Cunningham himself! The match details have been printed on to the shirt, and the "Umbro" name is fully embroidered. Cunningham's initials have been written on to one of the shirt's labels.
