This is a rare long-sleeved shirt that was issued to John Aldridge for the 1994 World Cup Finals in the USA. The vast majority of match shirts issued to the Irish players were short-sleeved because of the very high temperatures and high humidity. However, a very small number of long-sleeved shirts were also prepared just in case any of the players did want to wear them.
The shirt is the green, home, strip and it carries the special embroidery in Irish, Corn an Domhain USA '94 around the FAI logo. This translates as "World Cup USA '94". Ireland only wore their green shirts in one match in the 1994 World Cup Finals - the opening game against Italy.
