This is a shirt that was allocated to Mark Kinsella for the match against Finland on the 15th November 2000. Kinsella captained Ireland during this match. It is a green, home, long-sleeved shirt and has been signed on the front by the whole squad. Kinsella wore short-sleeves during the match so this shirt would be one of his dressing room spares. It was given to one of his Republic of Ireland teammates after the game who then gave it to one of his friends. I subsequently purchased the shirt from that friend. The shirt differs from replica shirts because there is no sponsor's logo on the front: all Ireland replica shirts from 1992 onwards had a sponsor logo written on the front; shirts without a sponsor logo could not be bought in shops from this period onwards.
