This is a shirt that was issued for the 2004 European Championships qualifier match against Georgia on March 29th 2003. It is a green, short-sleeved, home shirt. Ireland won the match 2-1. The shirt was not allocated to any specific player to wear but was instead made up for the purpose of charitable requests. At every match the FAI will number up a series of jerseys with numbers going up to and possibly even beyond 30; these will then be signed by the team, before they warm up, in the dressing room. This shirt was taken by Dean Kiely who then donated it to a local football club. I purchased the shirt from them. The shirt differs from replica shirts because there is no sponsor's logo on the front: all Ireland replica shirts from 1992 onwards had a sponsor logo written on the front; shirts without a sponsor logo could not be bought in shops from this period onwards
