This shirt was issued to Jonathon Douglas for the Euro 2008 qualifier against Cyprus on October 7th 2006. The match will of course be remembered for the hammering that Ireland took against Cyprus - losing the match 5-2. The shirt is a green, home, long-sleeved shirt and has been fully signed on the front by the Irish squad for that match. Douglas was a non-playing substitute for the game so there can be no question of this shirt being match worn. The shirt was donated to a local Irish charity immediately after the game who raffled it as a prize. I purchased the shirt from the winner of that raffle. The shirt differs from replica shirts because there is no sponsor's logo on the front: all Ireland replica shirts from 1992 onwards had a sponsor logo written on the front; shirts without a sponsor logo could not be bought in shops from this period onwards
