This shirt was worn by defender Gary Breen in the friendly against Argentina played in Dublin on May 22nd 1998. It is a green, home, short-sleeved shirt and has the Number 5 on the back of the shirt. At the end of the match Breen swapped shirts with one of the Argentina players. I obtained the shirt from a very reliable source in Argentina who had bought the shirt from that player.

The shirt bears the correct features which distinguish it from official replica shirts; most significantly there is no Opel logo across the front of the shirt. This logo was on all replica shirts but not on players shirts. As well as that, the FAI crest and the Umbro logo are fully embroidered into the shirt's fabric. On replica shirts the Umbro logo is printed onto the shirt and the FAI crest is sewn on.

Argentina won the match 2-0 with goals from Batistuta and Ortega
